Happily trudging through the Voyager.

I'm on season three Voyager and am currently trying another download of Avid. Maybe this time my problems can be ironed out. Maybe this time...

STAR TREK VOYAGER! Pt. 2

On to the second season! No, I'm not quite done yet. I've gotten a job selling knives and it is taking up a lot of my time. This is the website for Cutco, the greatest knives and kitchen accessories in the world.
Cutco

VOY updates: Paras is a giant hormone, Seska is a badass bitch, Kes is a babe, Neelix is a stupid asshole with a big heart, and Janeway is a boss, even though her spirit animal is a skink.

STAR TREK VOYAGER!

Oh people, it's been a long time coming. I am known to like the more unpopular things.

fckin hipster

UNPOPULAR, not unheard of. You know of my most prime example, and it would do no good for me to repeat it now. Anyway, debatably the most unpopular official Star Trek series, Voyager captured my young child heart. Why I did not acquire it sooner, I do not know, but that doesn't matter now. I've got it!
I had a couple successful parties this summer since my parents have been away. Like I thought I would, I enjoy living alone. I'm on a diet now, my goal being to lose fifteen pounds by July. Think I can do it?

nope

Insidious

I had the house to myself for four days, and can I tell you, I got absolutely nothing done. I was lazy and I ate a lot. Actually, I lied. Not about the laziness and eating, which is already so characteristic of me, but I did actually work one night and made $60. Pretty good for me. This week, I hope to clean up my room. However, that would be way fucking easier if I had any real furniture whatsoever instead of one bin and a shitload of cardboard boxes. No wonder everything is on the floor, I need to take everything out every time to get to the bottom of the huge boxes.

Anyway, I did see a movie! I saw Insidious.
Here you can see stoner Darth Maul, the demon who is haunting the kid. Yeah, it was goofy, but the soundtrack was good, and the ending wasn't given away early on like in most horror movies of this nature.

Dog ---> Beach

Just took my dog to the beach. It is stormy today, but what the hell, live until I die. Got a refund check from school for $225 (woah initially I added a 2-- how wonderful it would be -.-) This money will probably fund a trip to Maine in August.

din't you just get back ffom a trip seattle?

Yeah, I did, and I know I said that would be the big trip, and I meant it. This one will be at least $100 cheaper. Also, I'd be going with my cousin who I never get to hang out with, and we might even make it a road trip, which I've never done.

shiit, are you realy going to talk about this now your titles are so misleading, i dothought you were going to talk about dog

This is how I roll.

All Projects On Hold

All my things are stopped right now because I am out of hard drive space. I only have 200 GB. How am I supposed to get anything done on that? Why am I a film major? What the hell are you doing throwing your life away with this bullshit? You could be saving lives instead of investing all your time and energy into making garbage.

It's like the universe is angry at me, and I deserve it.

Oh, you're doing film? I am going to shit on you every step of the way :D
Oh, is that your computer? VIRUSES!
Nice car there. OIL LEAKS!
Ha, I see you bought another bullshit recording device, illegally downloaded another software, made another cartoon. How fragile are your accomplishments. BROKEN, CORRUPTED, DELETED!!!!
Oh, you're carrying some money? LOST.
Get a job, bum.

I'm basically just feeling sorry for myself with all this. I do feel like I have pretty bad luck, and I do have regrets. I just hope it all means something one day, that I'll get something good for all the times I've lost.

Real jobs, please.

I would like any job. However, I have discovered I probably shouldn't work more than 10-15 hours a week during school and jobs don't typically want to hire someone who doesn't work a lot. I want my weekly total hours of "work" (job plus school) to be 35 hours. Any more than that, and I crack, but probably only because school requires thinking. If I were to only work, I could probably work a shit load more if I really had to. However, since I am apparently bettering myself and investing in my future with college, I am not available for work very often. Okay jobs are really hard to find in the first place, but once they see that O.O She can't work more than three days a week?!!?! It's all over.

May 21 - Personal Assistant - (new orleans ) admin/office
May 21 - Call Center Reps - (New Orleans) customer service
May 21 - Warehouse, Stewarding and Concessions Supervisors Needed - (Louisiana Superdome/New Orleans Arena) food/beverage/hospitality

What you can't see in the seemingly friendly and open titles to these job postings is that everyone wants experience, and it's all they want! Nothing else can replace it. Not the fact that I went to the best high school in the state, not the fact that I always had a GPA of at least 3.2, not my immaculate grammar, nothing! So, everyone wish me luck. I was an extra on Treme recently, but that was the finale so they won't be calling me again.

Lost Phone (2x)

I have no phone! Why don't I have a phone? Because someone stole it from the UNO gym last week. Then, I left my phone on top of my car and a guy walked up and snatched it.
well emily that sux
Thanks! I am aware of that! This guy was staring at me while I was sitting in the parking lot at MK's apartments. He was standing very close to my car, and he took my phone! :(

Good job, pop music!

Wow! I am kind of impressed by this year's pop music. So many songs have a scifi premise. In other news, my mother is sharing our house with several of her Jazz Fest friends, and it is really starting to feel like Hey Arnold. I kind of like it. Anything to distract my mom and I from each other. I need to move out soon. Man, I used to think it was just either the fact that I was a teenager or that maybe it really was my hormones, but I'm pretty much grown up now, and I am at times genuinely ashamed of her. Wow, what a great mother's day post, huh? In other other news, I cleared a good amount of stuff off my computer and Flash seems no better.

My Craigslist Ads

So recently, I've been putting up ads on Craigslist. Up until now, I'd just been using it to apply for jobs, but then I remembered that I am more than capable of babysitting, petsitting, and housesitting. Those are all things I can do for money!
However, I don't have any references. I claimed to have "experience with all ages", but that's kind of a lie too. I've babysat ages 3-12, but no babies yet. I also don't have any brothers, sisters, or dependent baby cousins, and my mom has never had a close friend with a baby around us. Therefore,  there never has been a way for me to get this elusive "experience". Lucky for me, my first callback was a woman from Houma (daaayummm that's far) who didn't even ask for them! Wish me luck guys!

Issues D:

Oregon Trail 2 is on hold because of computer issues.
In other news, I am now doing part of my breathing through my eye.
That is not a joke. Guys, it is coming out of my tear duct.
It is literally the weirdest thing I have ever felt.

Crossdressers are badass no matter what.

Don't let that title throw you off. That is entirely not what today's post is about-- I was just grabbing your attention. Today's post is about the year 2011's Pee Wee Herman Show on Broadway! I'm here to tell you that it's a great big nostalgia fest but at the same time has lots of new things as well. Maybe I'll post a youtube video with my favorite things from the old show and the new one so you can really see what I mean.

isnt that illegal for copyright reasons? your going to get kicked out of youtube.

You don't get kicked out of youtube typical internet user your video just gets banned. My video of Sjufan Stevens music over experimental scenery got removed for that reason last year and I am not so naive anymore that I'd try something like that again Anyway, in my opinion--

No one wants to hear your opinion Film Critic! This is my blog!

The old Pee Wee Herman Show was way better, and the new one just copied everything from the original I give it a thumbs down.

GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Okay! About youtube regulations, I'll probably just flip the video vertically, since that apparently is enough to keep a video from being taken down. Anyway, it won't even be ten minutes long. As for the harsh criticism given by Mr. Film Critic, I say the same thing I've said about Avatar: Just because something came first does not make it better. I believe they serve different purposes and are as good as each other, and since it was done by the same person who did the first one, he has every right to recycle as much as he wants. Some of it should be reused anyway-- the show does have exactly the same name as it did previously. If you think the new stuff is too kitchy and modern, you are missing the point of the show being done again. How can you complain that too much is the same as before and also complain that the new things are undeserving?

My recommendation (being the one that matters) is to see it. Please see it. I don't know anyone else who has seen it yet other than my own mother. Please go see it! It's on HBO and also can be found on the internet, like everything else.
If I could say one thing to Paul Reubens right now, it would be
Please don't stop doing things again yet! This was way too good for you to retire now. Do something else.

I don't know if he still plans on making whatever movies he was going to do a few years ago. Probably not.

The guy who lost his arm because he was stupid.

That guy is on TV right now, on probably the stupidest gameshow ever, Minute To Win It. They keep calling him a hero and a survivor, as though those two words are in any way synonymous, when in fact in life, they are close to opposites. A hero is someone who puts their life at risk for the safety and wellbeing of others. A survivor is someone who does anything for their own survival, even endangering those around them. See? Opposites. I'm not saying he's a bad guy, I just don't understand what's heroic about him or even admirable, other than that he had the bravery to cut his arm off in order to live. He shouldn't really be praised for anything else though. He went biking on dangerous terrain by himself and did not tell anyone. He didn't have a phone, or it was dead. It was an extremely remote area. So, we can conclude that he isn't particularly smart or insightful.

Comic Con New Orleans

Well, my Avatar friend got in the news a whole bunch and won honorable mention in the costume contest. She really should have won it all, though. Please check it out.
http://photos.nola.com/tpphotos/2011/01/comic_con_4.html
I love Avatar (as you all should know), and since my friend is so tall, I figured she could be the Avatar hero. But, did that ever mean I couldn't be something from the movie as well? I don't know. I don't know if in earlier times I thought it would be imposing, but for some reason, I looked over the possibility that I could also be an Avatar character.

My computer is all full of viruses at the moment, so the picture is broken :(

Avatar-- It never ends!

The New Orleans Con is this month, 22nd and 23rd I think. My friend who dresses as an avatar for everything now is going to be an avatar again for this (big surprise, but also, YEEEAAAH!), and she took my suggestion to wear a long black wig! Fun times. I'm just going to be some kind of RDA person, but I'm okay with it knowing I am responsible for some minuscule part of her outstanding costume. I finished the Carl Sagan book I was just reading before, and something strange happened. I was really sad that I was done with it, like I wanted to read it forever :( Oh well, I'm cheered up at the thought of how many papers, articles and books he wrote or contributed to during his life-- ~600! No shortage for me anytime soon :D

The Varieties of Scientific Experience

These are the scientists I know best of and who their characters most resemble in Disney's classic, The Lion King.

LIST OF FAVORITE SCIENTISTS:
CARL SAGAN - Mufasa
STEPHEN HAWKING – If Timone were bigger, wiser, and disabled
BRIAN GREENE - Simba
BRIAN COX - Rafiki
RICHARD DAWKINS – Scar, or some other contemporary older lion not mentioned in the movie

LIST OF SCIENTISTS I HATE:
MICHIO KAKU – No HE IS FOR REAL SCAR. I hate that sucker.

The Varieties of Scientific Experience: I recommend it to pretty much everyone.

There Will Be Blood

Old news. Yes, old news. Unfortunately, I'm not the timeliest of movie watchers, and I missed it back in 2006 or 07. However, it was an experience. That is possibly the most nervous feeling movie ever. The soundtrack was lots of strange percussion and anxious strings. That's anxious, not angsty. I think No Country For Old Men would have benefited from a soundtrack like that, though it was also good without one. Can I tell you guys what my favorite parts were? Ok. They were when the oil well exploded (of course, great scene), when Eli and Daniel had the mud fight (!!!!!!!!!!!!!), when Eli baptized Daniel (lolzords), and the last fight scene which ultimately ends in a death (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11). I don't know what's wrong with me, but I experienced such intense lolz watching them fight. Great movie, great individual parts, not sure how much I liked the way the parts went together (I know, oddly specific film critic I am) but still, good.
